Scott Malcolm – Owner and Director
Scott has been in the financial services industry since 2000 and prior to starting Money Mechanics was senior financial planner for another national firm. Scott is an Authorised Representative (ASIC No. 262368) of Infocus Securities Australia Pty Ltd ABN 47 097 797 049 AFSL No. 236523. Scott is a Registered Tax Practitioner (Financial Services) Tax Agent Number 24653755.
In 2005 he became the first Registered Life Planner (RLP) in Australia with The Kinder Institute of Life Planning, after completing the EVOKE training program in the United States and a 12 month mentorship program. In 2009 he completed training with The Money Coaching Institute and is interested in learning all he can about the Life Planning methodology and the psychology around people’s relationship with money.
Scott has been awarded the internationally recognised CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP) certification through the Financial Planning Association of Australia SMSF Specialist Advisor® (SSA) with the Self Managed Super Fund Association (SMSFA), a Premium Adviser of the Association of Independently Owned Financial Planners (AIOFP), which means our business has no conflicting ownership from a financial institution and he holds the Certified Financial Strategist (CFS) designation and is one of the few financial planners eligible to receive referrals from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
Scott is passionate about financial literacy and education and has been running courses at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) and Laneway Learning Melbourne on Financial Planning and Money topics since 2007.
In 2010 completed his Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
Scott sits on not for profit community boards and is a true believer in a ‘practicing what I preach‘ mentality. As a result, Scott has investments in the property and share markets along with having his own family Self Managed Super Fund while also enjoying a work-life balance. He believes everyone should try to spend time enjoying the best of career advancement and work life as well as their family life.
Steve Martin – Financial Planner Newcastle
Steve is a Certified Money Coach® (CMC) awarded by The Money Coaching Institute and has a passion for helping people with the subconscious and emotional reasons we don’t always do what we know we should with the money that flows through our lives.
Steve has been in the financial services industry since 2010 and prior to joining Money Mechanics gained experience in business, banking, and finance as well as both supporting and advising roles in a boutique financial planning practice

Client Administration Team
Leanne Stumer – Client Service Manager
Leanne has 28 years in Banking, Insurance, Retail sales and customer service to support her qualifications in Business Administration and Finance. She takes pride in being a customer service specialist who recently enjoyed roles in retention and sales team and frontline services.
Leanne is based in the PATRON Adviser Support Team at the Sunshine Coast office and is part of the dedicated Client Services Team for Scott Malcolm and the clients of Money Mechanics.
Leanne’s role is to assist Scott with the day-to-day client administration within the business and to ensure the smooth running of the back office processes.
In Leanne’s spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, camping and fishing, socializing with friends and family and playing Tennis.
Stephanie Swift – Client Service Manager
Stephanie comes to us with a background in Client Services, Steph provides advisers and their clients exceptional service to assist them to achieve their goals.
Stephanie has a strong attention to detail, knowledge of compliance and ensures a timely turn around on tasks. She enjoys all aspects of the advice process, especially implementation.
Steph is based in the Infocus Adviser Support Team at the Sunshine Coast office and is the dedicated client service offer for Scott Malcolm, Steve Martin and the Money Mechanics clients.
Stephanie’s role is to assist Scott and Steve with the day-to-day client administration within the business and to ensure the smooth running of the back office processes.
Steph enjoys spending her spare time at the beach, camping, 4x4ing and has a strong interest in aviation!
Tracey Collins – Client Service Manager
Tracey came to us with a solid background in Banking, Retail Management and Customer Service. Her experience includes Insurance and Lending, together with excellence in client service – always seeking to exceed client expectations. Her strengths are attention to detail, communication and multi-tasking.
Tracey is based in the Infocus Adviser Support Team at the Sunshine Coast Office and is part of the dedicated Client Services team for Scott Malcolm and the clients of Money Mechanics.
Tracey’s role is to assist Scott with the day-to-day client administration with the business and to ensure the smooth running of the back office processes.
Outside of work, Tracey’s interests include Fitness-fanatic, reading and going to the local beach.
